1.1 The Online Consortium Hosting Service
As a member of the Online Consortium Hosting Service (OCHS), your district will be provided with online
course access, central hosting, and technical support services. You will have:
- A number of seats based on your membership purchase
- A number of courses based on your membership purchase. Course pricing is based on your courses being of 50MB in size on average. Larger size courses can be accommodated by contacting Open School BC at online@openschool.bc.ca
- Use of WebCT course delivery features or interactive tools to fully customize a private course copy including:
- Calendar – public or private entries on a shared calendar
- Email – WebCT internal messaging
- Discussions – discussion groups around particular subjects
- My Grades – student view of quiz, assignment, and final grades
- Whiteboard – real time forum to type text, draw, and insert graphics
- Chat – real-time text communication
- Student Tracking
- Assessments – quizzes or exams to track student progress
- Assignments – submit work as a webpage, plain text, or attachment and publish for presentations
- Central hosting of the WebCT license and server software
- Complete technical support of WebCT
- Access to Open School BC's course administration system, Online Administrative Tools
- Support in using the Online Administrative Tools system
- Support in using online courses
