Open School BC is currently developing:

Coming in September 2010
The new English 11 will be a four module course; however students will be
required to complete only three.
Module 1 will be released in September, and

will be required to complete three course modules. An optional novel module
(Module 3) will be released for Term 11.
Module 1: Facts and Fiction

For the online course, there will be no external resources required. Writing
on the Run and the English 11 Source File will both be available in an online format.

This optional module will cover the novel "Who Has Seen The Wind" and select poetry.
Two external resources are required for this module: "Who Has Seen the Wind"
and "Poetry Alive".
Module 3: Poetry and Prose: Lord of the Flies
This optional module has yet to be developed and won't be available until
Term 2. The novel will be "Lord of the Flies" and the same select poetry as Module 2.
Two external resources are required for this module: "Lord of the Flies" and "Poetry Alive."
Module 4: The Tragedy of Macbeth
This is the Shakespeare module.
Two external resources for this
module: the "Macbeth" text and the BBC video production.
Course Outline
Each module consists of sections (groups of lesson related to a specific topic),
lessons, activities, journal entries, and section assignments. Each lesson is
designed to take about as long as a typical class period at school, which can vary
from about 40 minutes to just over an hour.
Lessons that involve writing multi-paragraph compositions will require more
time. You may choose to complete lessons at a different pace, depending on
your own situation. A recommended schedule is to complete one lesson per
day (or one section per week) and each lesson in one sitting. Be sure to work
through a lesson and its related activities before beginning a section assignment.
Please see attached Course Overview for more information.
