Transition To Blackboard Learn 9.1
Open School BC is pleased to announce the introduction of Blackboard Learn 9.1 (Bb) Learning Management System to our suite of services for September 2011. The Bb Learn system has many new features which perform well for the new Personalized Learning initiatives of the Ministry of Education. Some of the new features include:
- Community building
- Parental Portal
- Mobile Learn
- Web 2.0 features such as blogs, wikis and journals
- User and Course management via Online Administration Tools
- and much more
Over the 2011/2012 school year, we will transition from WebCT to Blackboard. Open School BC will continue to run WebCT through the end of June, 2012. During this one year transition period, we will work with you to ensure your course content is available in Blackboard Learn. There are a number of options and criteria for transitioning a course from WebCT into Blackboard Learn.
1. NEW BB COURSE FROM MASTER (recommended) - included in membership
Open School BC is currently working to create New Course Masters of all the OSBC courses. You will be able to request a copy in the same way you requested copies for WebCT. This is our recommended method of transitioning a course to ensure that you have the best possible content and most up to date course.
2. CREATE YOUR OWN BB COURSE from your WebCT course instance - included in membership
You can create your own course in Blackboard Learn from any of your WebCT course instances. We will create a Blank Course Shell for you in Blackboard Learn which will allow you to migrate your own content from your WebCT course instance. This process is very detailed and has many steps. 3. MIGRATION OF CONTENT from WebCT - included in membership
You may request a Migration of your course content. This process will migrate your course content from WebCT to Blackboard Learn. Then you build the table of contents and ensure all links and graphics are in place. You can find the documentation here to assist you with these tasks. 4. MIGRATION OF CONTENT from WebCT to BB with TOC - $60 per hour
This fee for service offering is for those that wish to have a 'MIGRATION OF CONTENT' (see above) but would like the Table of Contents work done by Open School BC. You would still have to ensure all links and graphics are in place.
5. ADDITIONAL HELP - $60 per hour
Open School BC can provide additional help directly in your courses on a fee for service basis. The hourly rate is $60.00 per hour to work in your courses directly.
